What Makes Raaga Music School Unique?

Meet Parna Sarkar: Founder and Teacher
A Passionate Musician
Parna Sarkar, is a passionate musician and dedicated teacher whose mission is to inspire a love and appreciation for the heritage of Indian music in her students. Parna Sarkar’s musical journey began at the tender age of 4 in a family steeped in music. Inspired by her maternal uncle and aunt, who were accomplished radio artists in Kolkata, Parna pursued Hindustani Classical and Semi-Classical music with devotion. She is blessed to be a grand disciple of the legendary Padma Vibhushan Pandit Jasraj.
A Visionary Approach to Teaching
Parna’s teaching philosophy blends traditional rigor with modern insights, making the intricate aspects of Hindustani music both accessible and enjoyable. Her comprehensive yet personalized approach—tailored to each student’s age, skill level, and pace—builds a strong foundation in swar, bhava (emotional depth), and rhythm. This ensures noticeable progress, such as the ability to sing in pitch and self-correct mistakes. Additionally, her teaching fosters confidence, discipline, and creativity in her students.
