My daughters started their Hindustani Classical music journey when they were in high school. She has been phenomenal. She encourages them to practice every day, like a mother would encourage her child. She is very forgiving and kind and generous in heart. My daughters have created an amazing relationship and bond with her. She is flexible with their insane high school load for which I am immensely grateful. Adhya-Ji is a strong-willed, hardworking, but thoughtful person who has taken steps to be the most welcoming and knowledgeable teacher that she can be. I’m eternally grateful for her instruction that always seems to help in some way, whether it be for memorizing a particularly complex rhythm or teaching a series of new taans. She is accommodating to schedule changes and is content to work on something till it’s absolutely perfect, no matter how long it takes.

I feel deeply grateful to have had the chance to learn music from Parna Didi. I have been learning with her for almost 6 years – first in person, and then after the pandemic (and also since I moved from New Jersey to Canada a few years ago) I have been learning on zoom. Parna Didi is an extremely gifted singer with a beautiful voice. She is also an incredibly patient and dedicated guru. She has a deep knowledge of music and makes sure to impart to her students a sound grasp of the fundamentals. Despite the rigor in her lessons, her warmth and kind heartedness make the student feel at ease and at home. I am lucky to have found her.

I was a student of Parnaji for several years. She is a wonderful teacher. I picked up music after 20 years, however she helped me rekindle my interest in music. Parnaji is very patient and takes a lot of pain to explain musical concepts in a way that everybody can understand. She makes music learning a really fun experience for all ages. Adhyaji is a passionate teacher who makes sure that her students understand the concepts she’s teaching them and goes over the basics to help build a strong foundation.
